This is possibly one of the most fun and useable cookbooks on my shelf, I've used my copy so repeatedly that its spine is broken and its pages are tattered and covered in chocolate.

The people at Americas Test Kitchen have gathered 1000 of their favorite recipes and tested and retested each one to guarantee the best possible cooking experience. Everything gets covered- from juicy steaks, to awesome shellfish and seafood, and great big delicious desserts. There are even helpful hints on purchasing equipment, meats, and produce.

I have tried several recipes and everything has been sinple to prepare, and turns out great. Required cooking for this book includes the Brown Surgar and Ketchup Meatloaf, the Braised Short Ribs, and my personal favorite- the Lemon Meringue Pie on pages 907 - 08.

Novice or pro this is a must have for any cook's library.
